Get ready for some (not so scary) laughs, as a new installment in the Scary Movie franchise is being prepared by Paramount Pictures. Ahead of the new film, which will be the first in the iconic spoof saga in over a decade, the first two films of the franchise, Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2, are making waves on streaming. So that will at least be able to hold fans over until the new film gets released in 2026.
As of this article’s publication, the two films are sitting firmly in the center of the pack on Paramount+: Scary Movie 2 is the fourth-most popular film on the streaming service, while the original Scary Movie is the fifth-most popular. There are other horror films that made the list (most notably the popular scarer Smile), but the two Scary Movie films are unique takes on the genre that have found streaming success.
