Guy Ritchie started the year by directing episodes of MobLand before helming his first feature film of 2025, Fountain of Youth, but one of his more recent action thrillers just got a disappointing streaming update. Ritchie directed The Covenant — as made obvious by the curious title Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant — which is currently streaming on Prime Video. The film follows an interpreter who risks his life to carry an injured sergeant to safety. Unfortunately, Prime Video has announced that The Covenant will leave the platform in six days, meaning the last day to watch the film will be this Saturday, June 21. Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant failed to gross even half of its $55 million at the box office after finishing with $21 million globally, but the film earned scores of 83% from critics and 98% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Covenant was the first movie Guy Ritchie directed after working on a pair of Jason Statham-led vehicles in 2021 and 2023. He first teamed up with the action icon for Wrath of Man, the R-rated heist thriller that also stars Holt McCallany, and the duo later reunited for Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, which features a star-studded ensemble led by Josh Hartnett and Aubrey Plaza. The former is streaming on Tubi and the latter on Peacock. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic, Ritchie closed out 2019 first with Aladdin and second with The Gentlemen. The former is a live–action Disney adaptation led by Will Smith streaming on Disney+, and the latter is a crime thriller starring Matthew McConaughey streaming on Netflix.
