Expecting to bring the highs and lows of sporting excellence to a viewing nation, the ABC sports group team quickly has to pivot to the breaking news, with emotions running high. ‘Another Simple Favor’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes: 67% | IMDb: 5.4/10
Seven years on from Paul Feig’s first winding, stylish mystery, Another Simple Favor returns to the intense life of Anna Kendrick’s Stephanie and Blake Lively’s Emily, with the latter about to marry a rich businessman against the stunning backdrop of the island of Capri. However, murder soon threatens to ruin her celebration, with old feelings beginning to boil over. Kendrick and Lively return to the characters that brought them great success back in 2018, with this a clever, worthwhile follow-up to the beloved original. It may not be quite as strong as its first outing, but that is more representative of the original’s quality than a damning indictment of the sequel’s. – Jake Hodges

Rotten Tomatoes: 53% | IMDb: 7.3/10
With the sequel recently premiering, there’s no better time to catch this first installment of Ben Affleck’s badass titular Accountant. An action-packed conspiracy thriller with all the trimmings, The Accountant is wonderful, testosterone-fueled fun from start to finish. Boasting Affleck at his best and a strong ensemble line-up alongside him, The Accountant is well worth a watch. – Jake Hodges

Rotten Tomatoes: 70% | IMDb: 6.5/10
One of the biggest blockbuster releases of 2024, Gladiator II sees Ridley Scott follow up on his Best Picture-winning historical epic almost 25 years prior. Set 16 years after its predecessor, Gladiator II follows Paul Mescal’s Lucius as he goes on a journey from zero to hero, taking vengeance on those who destroyed his home and looking to bring down a corrupt Roman government. A swords-and-sandals epic with all the trimmings, Gladiator II might not quite live up to its predecessor, but let that take nothing away from the expansive, adrenaline-fueled action of this worthy sequel. – Jake Hodges
‘Ford v Ferrari’ (2019)
Rotten Tomatoes: 92% | IMDb: 8.1/10

With Ferrari the opponent to beat, the innovative Ford breaks boundaries by revolutionizing the race car — but can it win? Featuring a star-studded cast starring everyone from Matt Damon to Christian Bale, Ford v Ferrari was a huge hit upon its 2019 release, even going on to win two Academy Awards for its troubles.
