With a little more than three months until its premiere in theaters, it’s high time that Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc fans got hyped up for one of the year’s biggest releases. Fans didn’t get to see much of the upcoming movie up to this point, but that’s changed thanks to Anime Expo. In the movie’s panel held on the event’s first day, a new trailer was unveiled in order to delve a little deeper into where the story is going. The movie also got an official release date: it’s debuting in theaters on October 29.
Fans already knew that Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc was slated for a fall debut, but now they can start counting down the days until they can finally flock to theaters in order to finally see what happens next in their new favorite anime series. It’s been a long wait, since Season 1 of the series wrapped its run in late 2022. Because of that, the gnarly story with ruthless villains and its unique hero will be welcomed with open arms by fans — and the anticipation might make it one of 2025’s biggest anime releases in theaters.
The new trailer underscores Denji’s (voiced by Kikunosuke Toya in the original Japanese and by Ryan Colt Levy in the English dub) problems with relationships, which will be the center of the story in the movie. Not that it will be an excessively romantic story — the problem is that after meeting two different girls, the boy-turned-demon will quickly realize that they might not be exactly what they seem. He also has a new reality to face: Denji is now a part of Special Division 4’s Devil Hunters, which means that his fights with evil entities will become more frequent and gnarly as the story progresses.
Is ‘Chainsaw Man’ Renewed For Season 2?
TK trailer
Despite the overwhelmingly positive reception of Season 1 — it stands at a near-perfect 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes — the future of Chainsaw Man is blurry. While the upcoming movie is a continuation of the story inspired by the manga series created by Tatsuki Fujimoto, there has been no news of a Season 2 entering production. This might mean that fans will be in for an even bigger wait after they check out Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc in theaters.
Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc is brought to life by MAPPA, the animation studio whose art style has been immensely praised by anime fans. The Chainsaw Man movie is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who previously held several episodes of Black Clover. He was also a key animator in the hit anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc premieres in theaters in the U.S. on October TK. You can check out the trailer above.
