Official ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Golf Putter Lets You “Tap It In” With a Hockey Stick Just Like Adam Sandler

July is looking to be a wild month to go to the movies. Between multiple superhero adventures, dinosaurs running amok, and an iconic slasher franchise returning, there’s a lot to choose from for moviegoers. However, if you want to stay home on a weekend night, streamers have more than a few new options. None are bigger in that category this month than Happy Gilmore 2. The long-awaited Netflix sequel starring Adam Sandler takes its first swing in just a couple of weeks. Now, as fans wait to hit the green, you can play just like Happy Gilmore with this new film-inspired putter.

Thanks to Odyssey, fans of the popular ’90s golf comedy can live out their wacky sports dreams. Just like the first film, this modified putter takes after Happy’s first love, hockey. Also, like in Happy Gilmore, the hockey stick putter is black, gold, and white in honor of this larger-than-life character’s favorite team, the Boston Bruins. There are plenty of other great details to this piece, like Happy’s name being on the handle and the protective sock. The latter of which also has the film’s logo on it. The putter is currently sold out and, according to Odyssey’s website, retails for a whopping $9,999.99 USD. However, the putter is also available for purchase at Dick’s Sporting Goods for just $500. This is the exact brand of putter used in Happy Gilmore 2.

The original Happy Gilmore followed a temperamental and down-on-his-luck hockey player (Sandler) who gets discovered by a retired golfer, Chubbs Peterson (Carl Weathers). He takes Happy under his wing so this newly minted golfer can win enough money to get his grandma’s house back. However, that gets the attention of pro golfer Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald). He’s trying to win his first major tournament, but Happy gets in the way of his plans. From there, an arch rivalry was born.

Happy Gilmore is one of Sandler’s most beloved films. Holding a 63% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s also one of the actor’s best-reviewed comedies. That’s why there are a lot of eyes on this Netflix sequel, 29 years in the making. Happy Gilmore will be coming out of retirement with a massive cast, too. This includes the return of McDonald, Ben Stiller, and Julie Bowen alongside franchise newcomers Travis Kelce, Rory McIlroy, Sadie Sandler, Margaret Qualley, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny, and more. There hasn’t been a ton of merchandise produced for the Happy Gilmore brand over the years besides the various physical media releases, so this hockey putter is a perfect way to tie up the sequel.
