A new trailer for Freakier Friday has been released, giving audiences a look at how the switch dynamic will work this time around. Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Annas Coleman (Lindsay Lohan) have been down this road before. They know exactly how complicated it can be to switch bodies with a member of their family. But what will happen when several family members of different ages are involved in the switch? Tess and Anna’s lives will change radically once again.
The new trailer for Freakier Friday focuses on the characters audiences have yet to meet. Anna is getting ready for her wedding with Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto). Organizing an event of that scale can be stressful enough, but things will get worse once Tess, Anna, Harper (Julia Butters) and Lily Davies (Sophia Hammons) are involved in yet another switch. After years of Freaky Friday fans asking for a sequel, Disney will attempt to blast expectations with yet another chaotic adventure for the entire family.
Disney recruited Nisha Ganatra to direct Freakier Friday. Before signing on to work on the next comedy involving Tess and Anna Coleman, the filmmaker was involved with the development of The High Note and some episodes of And Just Like That…. The screenplay for Freakier Friday was written by Jordan Weiss, who recently worked on Sweethearts and the Harley Quinn animated series. The upcoming sequel was originally meant to be released on Disney+.
