How Mike Wolfe’s Unexpected Gesture Redefined Danielle Colby’s ‘American Pickers’ Legacy

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Danielle Colby thanked American Pickers co-star Mike Wolfe for years of support—especially for encouraging her dream of opening a burlesque and counterculture museum.

In the Instagram post’s caption, she honored Wolfe as a brother-like figure and acknowledged that his belief in her passion for preservation helped transform the Ecdysis Arts Museum from an idea into a soon-to-open institution. But that’s not all — beneath the tribute, Wolfe quietly dropped a comment that made sure the conversation circled around Colby’s legacy and the bond the two of them share, in the following words:

“Too many years and memories to count by your side. I love you and I’m So proud of you. Can’t wait to see it complete! Your collection is unbelievable it’s going to be an epic museum.”

Colby has long been framed as the “third pick” — holding down the fort, managing logistics, and providing witty commentary in a male-dominated American picker. And although she doesn’t need one, Wolfe’s public affirmation, especially delivered in response to her own words, acknowledges to all voicing fans that she’s a full architect of cultural preservation in her own right.

Mike Wolf Recently Opened His Rental Property Loaded With Collectibles

In May, Wolfe officially opened his Two Lanes Guesthouse, a short-term rental in LeClaire, Iowa, just steps from his flagship Antique Archaeology store. The space is more than a place to stay as it’s an immersive, handpicked space filled with rare Americana, vintage finds, and personal artifacts Wolfe has collected over decades of picking.

She’s the best choice.

Wolf then went on to post on Instagram, sharing that every “item inside has a story, brought together to create a space that feels welcoming, personal, and full of character.” The rental opening comes on the heels of Wolfe’s bittersweet decision to close his Nashville Antique Archaeology location in April 2025. Wolf went on to say that this new rental is very close to his heart because of the community it flourishes, and all the different kinds of people from all over the world that choose to rent it for the love of artifacts.

As far as the next season of American Pickers is concerned, the show will return for its 27th installment on the History Channel, premiering on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET. All the previous seasons of the show are available to stream on the same platform.
