Eric Bana is more than 20 years removed from playing Bruce Banner in Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk movie, and now the Australian actor’s next project just got an exciting new look. Netflix has debuted the first teaser trailer and batch of images for Untamed, the upcoming limited series that will begin streaming on July 17. The platform has even assembled a star-studded ensemble to star opposite Bana, led by Rosemarie DeWitt (Smile 2), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), and Wilson Bethel (Daredevil: Born Again). Lily Santiago will also star in the show. Elle and Mark L. Smith will showrun Untamed for Netflix, with star Eric Bana also earning an executive production credit for his work on the show alongside John Wells, Erin Jontow, Todd Black, Tony Shaw, Steve Lee Jones, and Cliff Roberts.
Untamed is a character-driven mystery thriller set in Yosemite National Park that follows Bana’s Kyle Turner, a special agent for the National Parks Service who enforces what human laws he can in the vast wilderness. A brutal death in the park sparks an investigation that leads Kyle down a dark and mysterious path that reveals secrets about the park and his own past. Sam Neill will star as Paul Souter, the chief park ranger in Yosemite, and Lily Santiago will play Naya Vasquez, a former LA cop who is the newest addition to Yosemite’s ranger squad. DeWitt has been tapped for the role of Jill Bodwin, Kyle’s ex-wife and a former teacher and park counselor, who is now remarried. Wilson Bethel will portray Shane Maguire, a former Army Ranger turned loner who has devoted his life to park safety.
What Else Is Eric Bana Known For?
In addition to playing The Hulk, Bana is also known for starring alongside Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom in Troy, the 2004 sword & sandal epic that’s currently streaming on AMC+. He also played the lead role of Avner in Steven Spielberg’s Munich, the political thriller with Daniel Craig that’s currently not streaming anywhere. Bana more recently played John Meehan in the USA series Dirty John, which ran for two seasons and also stars Christian Slater and Connie Britton. Dirty John was mostly well-received by critics and audiences, and the show is currently streaming on Netflix.
