Enid’s Life Hangs in the Balance in Intense New ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Trailer

Enid is dead, and it’s all Wednesday’s fault. No wait, that’s just a vision. Netflix has released an intense trailer for Wednesday Season 2 while Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s “Phantom of the Opera” plays. Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams, back to Nevermore, now joined by her brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez). When Wednesday returns, she’s greeted by Steve Buscemi‘s Barry Dort who is the new principal of Nevermore. It’s then Wednesday realizes that her reputation precedes her, in a way she never expected after saving the school at the end of Season 1.

As she battles with hero worship, her visions worsen, and she foresees the death of Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers). That seems to be Wednesday’s wake-up call to get a grip on her advancing visions. She seeks out the counsel of her mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and her Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley). Morticia particularly affected by Wednesday’s plight, vowing she won’t let history repeat itself (but what history is that, Morticia?)

Alongside the trailer, Netflix has released a smattering of new images, including fans first look at Billie Piper‘s character, Isadora Capri who is described as “the Academy’s new head of music. A former child prodigy, Isadora is brilliant, intense, and enigmatic. She takes a special interest in Wednesday’s musical gifts and becomes a mentor to fellow werewolf Enid Sinclair.” The images show that the whole Addams clan returns including Fred Armisen‘s Uncle Fester.

Welcome to The Doom Tour, ‘Wednesday’ Season 2’s Tour(ture)

In addition to the new images and the trailer, Netflix also announces “The Doom Tour”, a promotional tour for the upcoming sophomore season of the series. They say “the cast of Wednesday is set to embark on a delightfully dreadful misadventure, lamenting the premiere of Season 2. This woeful journey will drag various cast members through the dreary lands of Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, South Korea, and the USA beginning toward the end of July.” Co-creator of the series, Miles Millar promises moments of the second season of Wednesday will be “straightforward horror” but, as Millar explains “we want to make sure that it’s never torture porn, but that there’s enough bite to it that it feels that there are real stakes.” The stakes do indeed seem dire, with Enid’s life in the balance and Wednesday’s visions taking an impossibly more serious toll on her body than when she first discovered them last season.

Wednesday Season 2 premieres in two parts. Part 1 will be August 6, with Part 2 on September 3. View the new images above and the trailer below. Stay with Collider for the latest updates.
