Titus Welliver recently wrapped up the final season of Bosch: Legacy on Prime Video, but another critically acclaimed project featuring Harry Bosch himself has become a global sensation on streaming charts. Welliver features alongside Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston in Argo, the 2012 R-rated political thriller following a CIA agent who acts as a Hollywood producer to rescue six Americans from Tehran. Argo is streaming on HBO Max and Paramount+ globally, and the film is charting in the top 10 in several countries, such as Canada, Thailand, and Taiwan. In addition to winning Best Picture at the 2013 Academy Awards, Argo also boasts a “certified fresh” 96% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and 90% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. The film grossed $232 million against a $44 million reported budget.

Argo is, unfortunately, not streaming anywhere in the United States, but the film is available to rent ($3.79) or purchase ($13.59) on Prime Video, both prices which are cheaper than any standard streaming subscription. In addition to starring in the film, Ben Affleck also directed Argo with a script from Chris Terrio. Affleck had made his directorial debut five years earlier on Gone Baby Gone before following it up with The Town. Welliver also stars in the latter film, which recently found a run of streaming success on Netflix. Affleck has only directed two movies in the 13 years since Argo — he first stepped behind the camera for Live By Night, and then he also returned to the world of directing in 2023 with Air. Affleck has also been tapped to direct and star in Animals, an upcoming kidnapping thriller.
