Art the Clown & More Modern Horror Icons Get New Blood-Soaked Figures From NECA

The last decade has been an amazing time to be a horror fan. There’s a ton of new franchises for moviegoers to sink their bloody teeth into. This has included horror comedies like Christopher Landon’s Happy Death Day, brutal unrated slashers like Damien Leone’s Terrifier, and gruesome adaptations like Scott Derrickson’s The Black Phone. All three of these films are gearing up for scream-worthy sequels. Now, while we wait to shiver again at the movies, NECA is giving these franchises new killer figures.

A part of NECA’s popular Toony Terrors line, there are three new figures in their latest Saturday morning cartoon-inspired wave. There’s Art the Clown (Terrifier), The Grabber (The Black Phone) and The Babyface Killer (Happy Death Day). All three of these six-inch figures will come with accessories. This includes The Babyface Killer, who will have their signature birthday cupcake and a knife, while Art will have a clown horn. You will be able to buy these figures in a bundle for $44.97 USD. On top of that, Art the Clown will be getting his own Head Knocker and seven-inch-scale “Ultimate” figures from NECA as well. These will be $29.99 and $35.99 respectively.

A New Deadly Age For Horror Sequels

When it comes to horror sequels in development, both Terrifier 4 and Happy Death Day 3 are coming soon. The former is currently being written by Leone and will finally explain Art the Clown’s mysterious backstory. Terrifier 3 was one of the most profitable genre films last year, so it’s safe to assume the promoted final film in the franchise will be hitting theaters sometime next year. As for Happy Death Day, after many reports of the series being dead, it was confirmed by final girl Jessica Rothe and Landon that a third film is finally happening. There are no more details other than that exciting revelation earlier this year. Happy Death Day 2U came out in 2019 and has been sitting on its hilarious cliffhanger for over six years.

The only sequel out of this trio that has been shot this far is Black Phone 2. Derrickson and his stars Ethan Hawke (Sinister) and Mason Thames (How to Train Your Dragon) have returned for the deadly next chapter. The first teaser trailer was released this month and revealed its creepy Nightmare on Elm Street-inspired plot. Even in death, there’s no escaping Hawke’s scary Grabber. The original film, based on the Joe Hill short story of the same, was a critical and box office hit. It currently holds an impressive certified-fresh 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

When Will ‘Black Phone 2’ Release?

Black Phone 2 haunts theaters on October 17, 2025. You can stream the original nightmare on Peacock alongside the first two Terrifier films.
