A Top Fan Pick for Wolverine, 35, Reveals They’ve Already Spoken to Kevin Feige About a Potential MCU Gig

Jack Champion isn’t the only actor that fans think might enter the MCU. Kingsman: The Secret Service starTaron Egerton has also captured the attention of fans as a potential fan favorite to play Wolverine, who could potentiallyend Hugh Jackman‘s reign as the iconic X-Men character. And while Marvel’s X-Men reboot is still in its early stages, the actor revealed that he met Kevin Feige about a potential place in the MCU.

In an interview with The Playlist, Egerton revealed that his meeting with the Marvel Studios president was more of a general meeting, and there was nothing specific in the conversation. However, he expressed interest in joining the MCU, provided the character he’s set to play is one he’s genuinely interested in, given Marvel’s commitment to its cast and the possibility of future returns.

“Yeah, I did meet with Kevin Feige once, but it didn’t lead to anything specific. It was more of a general meeting, and I think that’s all it ever was. I think there’s an expectation with Marvel that you’re signing on for a long journey, and that’s a big commitment. So unless the character is something I really, really connect with, it’s not something I’m rushing into.”

Currently, the release date of Marvel’s X-Men reboot is unknown. So far, the only news that came out of this project was that Jake Schreier was assigned to direct, and a cast list has yet to be revealed. Additionally, Ryan Reynolds is working on an X-Men project of his own, where Deadpool meets up with at least “three to four” iconic mutants in a potential crossover that has yet to be pitched.

Will Wolverine Appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday?’

Avengers: Doomsday boasts a massive cast list, featuring main MCU timeline stars like Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, and Simu Liu, alongside new faces like the Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four. Also included in this lineup are former cast members from the 20th Century Fox X-Men franchise, such as Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, Kelsey Grammer, and James Marsden.

But despite this impressive lineup, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine isn’t coming back to the MCU, despite his appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, which became a massive box-office hit. The only cast member from that feature who will be part of this next Avengers movie is Channing Tatums Gambit.

Deadpool & Wolverine is available to stream on Disney+. Follow Collider to keep up to date with the latest updates.
