‘Godzilla x Kong’ Star Dan Stevens, 42, Cast in an Unexpected Star Wars Sequel

Dan Stevens is headed to the galaxy far, far away. The Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire star has joined the voice cast of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past as Master Solitus – a former Jedi who will wreak havoc as a villain in the upcoming sequel. Solitus will quickly become one of the biggest threats Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) will have to overcome when he returns to Disney+ on September 19.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past will continue the adventures of Sig Greebling, a young nerf-herder who used to hide his Force powers before he was pulled into the most explosive conflict of his life. The first installment of the story allowed different ideas from across the Star Wars franchise to come to life thanks to the Cornerstone. The ancient relic from a Jedi temple caused the “building blocks” of the galaxy to clash against one another.

Dan Stevens is joining the cast of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past after his recent introduction as Trapper in the MonsterVerse, and the acclaimed actor will reprise the role in the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. The sequel, directed by Grant Sputore, will pitch the titular monsters against an unknown threat, with the fate of the entire planet in the balance. Stevens was praised for his comedic performance in the most recent installment of the franchise, finally giving the series a likable human character.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past will feature the return of some of the most talented actors the franchise has ever seen. Tony Revolori will be back as Dev Greebling, Sig’s older brother, and the villain, who was known as Darth Devastator thanks to the Cornerstone. The actor is known for his role as Flash Thompson in the recent Spider-Man movies. Ahmed Best, the actor behind Jar Jar Binks, will also be back in the upcoming special miniseries. The dark version of the character will prove once again why he’s the most dangerous Gungan in the entire galaxy.

After entertaining audiences for decades, Ashley Eckstein will be back as Ahsoka Tano. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past will present BrickHeadz version of the legendary character as a force to be reckoned with. The final season of The Clone Wars and Tales of the Jedi proved that Eckstein still has a lot to explore with her role as Tano. Most surprising is that Mark Hamill is also confirmed to return as Luke Skywalker, even though the actor just recently announced he was retiring as the character.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past premieres on Disney+ on September 19. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
