At the height of his Game of Thrones career, when Tyrion Lannister was a name on everyone’s lips, the ever-brilliant Peter Dinklage signed on to a brooding Western project that promised an ensemble including the likes of Sophia Lillis, Noomi Rapace, and Charlie Plummer. Alas, after entering development hell and that trio all leaving the project, The Thicket was put on the back burner, only to finally return last year with little to no fanfare.
Nevertheless, the film was a hit with critics and audiences alike, earning a pair of 80% ratings from both on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Now starring the likes of Juliette Lewis of Yellowjackets fame, Levon Hawke, Esmé Creed-Miles, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Leslie Grace, and more, The Thicket went under many people’s radar when it released on September 6. Less than one year later, the movie is finally gaining the traction it deserves, officially joining the ranks of Prime Video’s top 10 most-streamed movies in the US, as of June 30, 2025.
Entering the list at #8, The Thicket is already outperforming the tenth-placed CHiPS, and the ninth-placed The Beekeeper, starring Jason Statham, Jeremy Irons, and Josh Hutcherson. Elsewhere in the list, at #7, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is proving popular on Prime, with another Statham flick in Homefront at #6, and Glen Powell’s Twisters at #5. The Ben Affleck-led The Accountant is at #4, with the hilarious Deep Cover at #3, and Robert Eggers‘ Nosferatu at #2. Taking the top spot on Prime’s list of most-streamed movies in the US is the newly released The Accountant 2.
