Adam Sandler’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ and the 7 Best New Movies Coming to Netflix in July 2025

Netflix has a blockbuster lineup of movies arriving this July, right in the heart of the summer movie season. From long-awaited sequels, to all-time favorites, you’ll want to mark your calendars for when these titles make their way to the service in July.

Mission: Impossible 1-5

Available on: Tuesday, July 1

If you were one of the many who checked out Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning on the big screen earlier this summer, Netflix is giving you the chance to revisit the first five films in Academy Award nominee Tom Cruise‘s hit spy franchise.

  • The original Mission: Impossible sees Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and the IMF team go on a mission that gets sabotaged, leading him to suspect that there’s a mole in the covert government agency.
  • Mission: Impossible II sees Ethan teaming up with the cunning thief Nyah to secure a genetically modified disease that is being held by rogue IMF agent Sean Ambrose.
  • Mission: Impossible III begins with Ethan Hunt having retired from the IMF and newly engaged to nurse Julia Meade. Ethan is soon called back into action to take down the volatile arms dealer Owen Davian.
  • Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol sees Ethan Hunt and the IMF being framed for bombing the Kremlin, leading to the agency being shut down. With fewer assets than ever, the IMF team must resort to near-impossible levels to clear their names.
  • Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation begins with the IMF team having gone their separate ways, only to be called upon once more to take their most dangerous foe to date, the organization known as the Syndicate, comprised of rogue government agents.

Brian De Palma (Scarface) directed the first movie, John Woo (Face/Off) directed the second, J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directed the third, Academy Award winner Brad Bird (The Incredibles) directed Ghost Protocol, and Academy Award winner Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) directed Rogue Nation. Cruise stars in all five movies, which also feature a strong ensemble that includes Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Henry Czerny (Clear and Present Danger), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), Rebecca Ferguson (Dune), Academy Award winner Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy), Michelle Monaghan (The White Lotus Season 3), the late Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote), Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Sean Harris (Spencer), Dougary Scott (Ever After: A Cinderella Story), Academy Award nominee Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), and Paula Patton (Precious), among others.
