Eagles’ Dallas Goedert Jokes About Travis Kelce’s Recent Weight Loss

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert had some fun with his friend Travis Kelce in the wake of Kelce showing off a slimmed-down figure at minicamp this week.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Goedert, 30, said he’s looking forward to asking Kelce, 35, about his weight loss when they both participate in the annual Tight End University later this month.

“It will be interesting to talk to him about that,” said Goedert, who spoke to Us via his partnership with Amgen on his journey with plaque psoriasis. “You know, just see if he’s traveling too much or having a good time. I know he’s got a lot going on in his life as well.”

Kelce, of course, is currently dating pop star Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been training in Florida this offseason, which has led to him shedding some weight — though Kelce recently pushed back against a report that he had lost 25 pounds.

The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed some special guests to their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 17, and Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce made sure their days were unforgettable. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Chiefs hosted Diego and Jacob, two fans suffering from chronic medical conditions. Mahomes, 29, and Kelce, 35, took time to greet them […]

“First of all, I never said that,” Kelce said with a laugh at Chiefs minicamp on Wednesday, June 18. “Don’t believe all you read on the internet, guys. Alright?”

However, Kelce did acknowledge that he’s “down some weight from the end of the season last year.”

Goedert, whose Eagles defeated Kelce’s Chiefs in February’s Super Bowl LIX, will take the field with Kelce and an A-list roster of NFL tight ends at the fifth annual Tight End University, which kicks off June 23 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

The event, created by Kelce, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, brings together the league’s best tight ends for a weekend of training, bonding and plenty of off-the-field fun.

“It’s been incredible,” Goedert said. “It’s just a bunch of really cool guys. It seems like every one I enjoy hanging out with, I enjoy talking to. We have so many similarities. I think it’s just the tight end position overall. It’s definitely grown over the years. It was kind of underlooked and didn’t seem like it was as valuable as we all believe it is.”

He continued, “Now no matter what team we’re playing, I always know somebody on the other side because of this incredible thing Travis, George and Greg started. So, credit to them.”

As Goedert has continued to make a name for himself in the NFL, he’s done so while combatting plaque psoriasis, an itchy and painful autoimmune disease that starts inside the body and is characterized by raised and silvery patches of skin.

“Being a football player with plaque psoriasis, it can be distracting and take away your focus from the football game, which is most important,” admitted Goedert, who has suffered from psoriasis since he was 10. “They’d show up in hard to reach places and I would always rush to put topicals on it.”

Goedert continued, “But now I’m on a treatment plan that starts from within and attacks the problem that way.”
