Jenna Bush Hager’s latest personal confessional will have you packing the sunscreen.
During the Tuesday, June 17, episode of Today With Jenna and Friends, the talk show host and her guest cohost, Leslie Bibb, discussed going topless while on vacation.
“I once went to a topless beach — I might’ve already said this, which is embarrassing — but in Spain in high school,” Bush Hager, 43, recalled. “But I will say, if you get burned, it’s not pretty.”
As her skin began to peel, the Today show star said her breasts began to look a little different.

“They may have turned green,” she said. “The opposite of the color wheel. That’s why my skin won’t look like yours, unfortunately. This is years of sun damage. It was gross.”
Visibly shocked by the revelation, Bibb, 51, couldn’t help but ask for further confirmation that it was a true story.
“They turned green? For real? Oh, I don’t think that’s good,” she said. “Green? That makes me sick.”

While Bush Hager said she goes to the dermatologist for regular visits, Bibb understood why some people find themselves getting a little sunburnt in unique places.
“I am so scared of the sun, but my mother, Betty Bibb? God, she would lay out naked as a jaybird on our deck in Nelson County,” she said. “I would come out and I’d be like, ‘Mama! Put on some clothes!’ She would lay out in the buff — top and bottom.”
The topic came up after Gwyneth Paltrow took to Instagram and shared a video of herself cooking topless.
“This was a Tuscan inspired high protein #boyfriendbreakfast skillet with sausage from the local butcher, white beans, spinach, cherry tomatoes and of course eggs,” the Goop founder wrote via Instagram on Saturday, June 14.
Fans were quick to comment on her unique cooking outfit, with Paltrow’s own daughter, Apple Martin, questioning the look.
“Did I steal your shirt by accident or….” she commented. Jennifer Garner added, “Can I be your boyfriend?”

Earlier in the week, Bush Hager also got fans talking when she debuted her new bob haircut. With help from celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan — who created Jennifer Aniston’s famous “Rachel” haircut on Friends and was the mastermind behind Leslie’s own bob haircut — the morning show star introduced her look on live TV.
“You’re such a badass, you’re cool,” Leslie said on Today. “I love this.”
