Taylor Sheridan is always looking for new ways to expand his television empire on Paramount+, but the last movie directed by the Yellowstone creator has returned to streaming charts just a few years later. Sheridan directed Those Who Wish Me Dead in 2021, the psychological thriller following a Montana survival expert who is tasked with protecting a child on the run. Those Who Wish Me Dead is streaming on HBO Max globally, and it is one of the top 10 most popular movies in countries such as the Netherlands and Ukraine. Taylor Sheridan’s film hit theaters during the COVID-19 pandemic and still grossed $19 million at the box office, but budget information for the film is not available. Those Who Wish Me Dead earned 63% from critics and 86% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Taylor Sheridan has only directed three movies in his career after making his directorial debut in 2011 on Vile. The splatter horror film is currently streaming for free on Tubi and stars Erin Jay Beck, April Matson, and Akeem Smith. Sheridan followed that up six years later with the release of Wind River, the contemporary Western starring Marvel icons Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. Sheridan stepped behind the camera to direct episodes of Yellowstone, Landman, Lioness, 1883, and Mayor of Kingstown, but he has remained in the writer’s chair for some of his other projects like Tulsa King and 1923. Sheridan has also worked as a scribe on other films such as Without Remorse and both Sicario movies. Fans are still patiently awaiting news about a third movie in the Sicario trilogy.
