Wanna Play? ‘Chucky’ Returns With Bloody New SDCC-Exclusive Thrilljoy Figures

You can’t have a conversation about iconic slasher franchises without bringing up Child’s Play and Chucky. This lovable killer doll has been racking up a massive body count for almost 40 years. This is all the while cracking jokes at his victims’ expense. That said, horror fans have kind of been in a waiting period the last year to see where Chucky will end up next. Now, Thrilljoy is making this vacant period a little less tortuous with new figures based on the franchise.

A part of Thrilljoy’s PIX! vinyl figure collection, their latest horror figure is Chucky wielding a knife. This will be a San Diego Comic Con-exclusive figure and is limited to 7,500 pieces. The one-in-six chase variant has the famous possessed doll with a hammer. This is just the latest genre icon to appear in the newly minted PIX! series. The Gill-Man (Creature From the Black Lagoon), Annabelle, Gremlins, and The Corpse Bride have all been represented so far. Like all the figures at this roughly five-inch-tall scale, Chucky will be $20 USD each. Thrilljoy was co-founded by Funko’s former CEO, Brian Mariotti. The friendly competition is sure to make SDCC interesting this year.

You Can’t Keep a Good Guy Down For Long

While it’s been almost a year since Chucky was abruptly canceled on Syfy after three seasons, this slasher star just can’t seem to get out of the limelight. Chucky has gotten new action figures from NECA, Funko Pops, and apparel collections in that time to hold die-hard fans over. M3GAN may be trying to steal his horror doll fame, but it’s going to take more than a couple of rival films and a canceled TV show to keep this Good Guy down.

The Chucky series was a love letter to the entire franchise. It brought the character back to his slasher roots, all the while keeping the comedy that made entries like Bride of Chucky so memorable. In just 24 episodes, Chucky destroyed a religious boarding school and accidentally became a Christian. In retaliation for those sins, he tried to destroy democracy at the White House and kill the President of the United States. Before the show was canceled, the eighth film in the main franchise was already in the works from creator Don Mancini. We still don’t know what that story will be about, but the series ended on a chilling cliffhanger. Hopefully, some of the dangling plot points will be resolved in the next film.
