Collider Ladies Night takes the stage at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on Thursday, July 24 at 6:45pm for an “After Dark” edition of the show. But, that’s not all. After leaning into horror movies with Katie Douglas, Hassie Harrison, Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, and Alexandra Shipp, Ladies Night will celebrate two of the hottest shows on TV right now, Peacemaker and Ghosts.
On Friday, July 25 at 5:45pm in Room BCF, I’ll take the stage with Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Pinnock and other soon-to-be-announced guests for a look back at their journeys in film and television thus far, and a look ahead at their upcoming projects which, of course, include Peacemaker and Ghosts.
Created by Superman director and DC Studios co-chairman and co-CEO James Gunn, Peacemaker puts the spotlight back on John Cena’s title character after the events of The Suicide Squad, while introducing a team of A.R.G.U.S. agents. That team includes Holland’s Emilia Harcourt and Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) own daughter, Brooks’ character, Leota Adebayo.
Meanwhile, Ghosts is gearing up for its fifth season on CBS. Adapted from the original British series, Ghosts stars Rose McIver as a woman who moves into an upstate manor she inherits, falls down the stairs and, when she comes to, realizes she can see the ghosts of those who’ve died on the property, which includes Pinnock’s Alberta Haynes, a lounge singer who was murdered in 1928.
Danielle Brooks Is Taking Over
An Academy Award nominee, Tony nominee, Grammy winner, and now she also stars in one of the biggest box office hits of the year.

‘Peacemaker’: Danielle Brooks Details Adebayo’s Struggle During That Episode 5 Diary Scene
“It’s this tug of war of what’s right and what’s wrong.”
What can’t Danielle Brooks do?
Brooks’ star first skyrocketed courtesy of a seven-season run on one of the most iconic Netflix shows of all time, Orange Is the New Black. Soon after that, she scored one of the most sought-after gigs this industry has to offer. She joined a superhero franchise via the role of Leota Adebayo in Peacemaker.
The next monumental achievement Brooks added to her resume? Becoming an Academy Award nominee. After an extremely successful awards season run which included a BAFTA nomination and a Critics Choice nomination, she became a Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar nominee for her work as Sofia in Blitz Bazawule’s The Color Purple.
Brooks has kept that momentum sky-high in 2025. Not only does she star in one of the biggest hits at the box office, The Minecraft Movie, but she’s also gearing up for the highly anticipated release of Peacemaker Season 2 on HBO Max.
Jennifer Holland Is a DC Powerhouse
Holland returns as Emilia Harcourt in Peacemaker Season 2.

‘Peacemaker’: Jennifer Holland Explains How Her ‘The Suicide Squad’ Character Became Emilia Harcourt
Holland also discusses why she loves working with James Gunn as an actor’s director.
Holland introduced Emilia Harcourt in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, but the character’s expanded role in Peacemaker Season 1 let her soar like never before.
As Economos (Steve Agee) warned Adebayo, “Don’t worry about Harcourt. She doesn’t really like anybody.” Convinced she’s assigned to the Project Butterfly mission as a form of revenge for disobeying Amanda Waller in The Suicide Squad, Harcourt is apathetic towards the other agents and is flat-out disgusted by Peacemaker. Harcourt is also quite clearly as capable and skilled as they come, and Holland’s infectious authority in the role made her a scene-stealer from day one.
However, it was Holland’s sneak-attack emotional turn that made Harcourt such an impossibly strong and captivating character. As the season progressed, Harcourt’s heart thaws, a significant turn that Holland navigates deftly and to great effect.

Pinnock also revisits her journey from stage to screen on this edition of Collider Ladies Night!
Whenever someone asks for an instant mood-booster, I always direct them to the hit CBS series Ghosts. Truly, no other show on TV puts a smile on my face and fills my heart faster. In addition to whipsmart writing, Ghosts also features one of the very best ensembles on TV. Every single actor in the Ghosts cast is a comedy ace who achieves maximum success making their role uniquely their own.
Alberta marks Pinnock’s very first series regular role. It’s an opportunity she deserved and one that she’s making the absolute most of on screen, but another especially striking aspect of how Pinnock’s navigated the industry since hitting that milestone is how she’s chosen to use her growing platform. In addition to spreading joy via the show as Alberta, she’s also become an absolute ray of light on social media, making the most of her comedy chops and also being a source of inspiration as she shares key moments from her journey as an actor,
