Netflix’s ‘Queer Eye’ Gets a Shocking Update Ahead of Season 10

All good things must come to an end. As first reported by Deadline, Queer Eye will conclude its run on Netflix after Season 10. The rebooted edition of the original Bravo series debuted in 2018. By the time the series concludes with its final season in Washington, D.C., Queer Eye would have tallied nearly 90 episodes.

Netflix officially shared the news on social media with a post of the Fab Five in the nation’s capital with the caption: “10 seasons. Fab Five. One last go ‘round. The final season of Queer Eye is officially in production!” The final run of the series “will celebrate the show’s legacy and impact, spotlighting heroes from the nation’s capital,” according to the streamer.

Starring the Fab Five, the series followed the experts as they helped a group of individuals eager to experience a life-changing physical and emotional makeover. The Fab Five includes relationship expert Karamo Brown, fashion expert Tan France, food and wine expert Antoni Porowski, hair and makeup expert Jonathan Van Ness, and interior design expert Jeremiah Brent, who replaced original star Bobby Berk.

‘Queer Eye’ Was Highly Awarded

Since its debut, the feel-good LGTBQ+ series has set down roots across America to help participants eager to change their lives, with each season dedicated to a specific locale. Seasons 1 and 2 focused on Georgia; Seasons 3 and 4 featured Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois; Season 5 was in Pennsylvania; Season 6 featured Austin, Texas; Seasons 7 and 8 were in New Orleans; and Season 9 was in Las Vegas. The series also includes a number of specials, including the infamous four-part Tokyo special.

Queer Eye‘s reemergence on media was important for queer visibility and voices in entertainment. Over the course of its run, Queer Eye has been nominated for 37 Emmy Awards, earning six consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Structured Reality Program between 2018 and 2023. Overall, the series earned a total of 11 Emmys. The reboot version of the show was inspired by the original, utilizing a similar format and individual experts. The original series, formerly known as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, featured Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley, and Jai Rodriguez, and ran for five seasons.
