Twilight fans were delivered a treat earlier this year when Netflix added the entire saga of movies to its library, but all good things must come to an end. After several months of streaming dominance, Netflix has now announced that all Twilight movies will leave the platform at the end of the month on June 30. The franchise was formerly streaming on Peacock before it moved to Netflix, but a new streaming home has not been announced. Fans may have to do without any Twilight movies on streaming for a month or two before another service scoops them up. With five films under its belt, The Twilight Saga has successfully grossed more than $3.3 billion at the global box office, with the collective budgets of the films coming in at under $500 million.
Although the stars of Twilight have gone on to do extraordinary things, it will always be hard for many fans to separate them from their original roles as vampires and werewolves. Robert Pattinson, in particular, has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after A-listers and is even the new Batman, but there will always be fans who remember him as Edward Cullen. The same can be said for Kristen Stewart. She may be permanently attached to her performance as Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga, but she’s gone on to extraordinary things, including earning an Oscar nomination for her work in the 2021 film, Spencer. Stewart also recently starred opposite Katy O’Brian in Love Lies Bleeding for A24, and she’ll be seen opposite Elizabeth Olsen and Oscar Isaac in Flesh of the Gods.
