Arnold Schwarzenegger is approaching 80 years old, and while the action hero has certainly slowed down a bit since his younger days, he just dropped a new project on Netflix that’s climbing the streamer’s charts. Schwarzenegger stars alongside Top Gun: Maverick star and former Oscar-nominee Monica Barbaro in FUBAR, the spy series that recently debuted its second season on June 12. After earning a 56% score from critics and an 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes — scores that improved upon the 50% and 68% of that earned by its predecessor — FUBAR Season has landed in the Netflix top 10, sitting at #7 at the time of writing. The show was written and created for television by Nick Santora, who also wrote and showruns Alan Ritchson’s Reacher series on Prime Video.
When it comes to live-action roles, Schwarzenegger certainly isn’t seen as often as he used to, but that hasn’t altered his status as one of the greatest action heroes of all time. One of his more recent outings came from reprising his role as T-800 in Terminator: Dark Fate, which flopped at the box office with $265 million against a $185 million budget. However, the legacy sequel recently redeemed itself on streaming after Schwarzenegger criticized the films for being poorly written. The former Terminator star also teamed up with Sylvester Stallone in back-to-back years, first on Escape Plan and later on The Expendables 3. The former is currently available to stream on Prime Video, and the latter can be watched on Peacock. Schwarzenegger is also infamously known for his role as Dr. Freeze in George Clooney’s maligned Batman movie.
