Two years after its second season dropped, Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia has officially been released, and it was definitely worth the wait. The season picks up right after Georgia (Brianne Howey) is arrested, as she awaits a verdict for her trial while housebound with an ankle monitor. The whole town is talking about this, of course, which causes problems for Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Austin (Diesel La Torraca) at school.
After binge-watching Ginny & Georgia‘s latest season, the wait for Season 4 already feels like a long one. In the meantime, there are a number of similar shows that will be perfect to watch and rewatch until then. These include teen dramas, as well as other suspenseful series that will have viewers on the edges of their seats. These are the TV shows to watch if you love Ginny & Georgia.

‘My Life with the Walter Boys’ (2023–)
Created by Melanie Halsall
My Life with the Walter Boys follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl who loses her entire family in a tragic car accident. Jackie then has to move from New York City to a small Colorado town, where she now lives with her mom’s best friend Katherine Walter (Sarah Rafferty), her husband (Marc Blucas), and their eleven kids. As she adjusts to this massive change, Jackie gets entangled in a love triangle with two of the Walter boys: Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex (Ashby Gentry).
For Ginny & Georgia fans who are looking for another teen drama to watch next, My Life with the Walter Boys is a great choice. It has a messy central love triangle, a complex heroine, and deeper themes that it touches on alongside the angsty moments. Like Ginny & Georgia, My Life with the Walter Boys focuses heavily on family, and on the theme of moving forward in the wake of tragedy.

‘Never Have I Ever’ (2020–2023)
Created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher
Never Have I Ever is another messy teen show that Ginny & Georgia fans will love, although it leans more heavily on comedy elements than Ginny & Georgia does. The series follows Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), a teenage girl who suddenly and inexplicably loses the ability to work for several months, after the death of her father (Sendhil Ramamurthy).
Devi goes into her sophomore year of high school determined to put the past behind her and become cool. She makes a plan to hook up with her longtime crush, Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), with whom she unexpectedly develops a genuine friendship and romantic connection. She also starts to rethink her feelings for her rival, Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison). Like Ginny & Georgia, Never Have I Ever has a messy and nuanced leading lady, and it gives significant focus to her friendships and her relationship with her mom (Poorna Jagannathan).

‘Dawson’s Creek’ (1998–2003)
Created by Kevin Williamson
Dawson’s Creek follows Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek), a teenage boy who is obsessed with films, and who loves to romanticize his life as if it’s a movie. Dawson’s life changes when a new girl, Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams), moves to town, which also complicates his relationship with his childhood best friend, Joey (Katie Holmes). Rounding out the group is Dawson’s other best friend, Pacey (Joshua Jackson).
Ginny & Georgia fans who love the teen drama aspect and the small town of Wellsbury will adore Dawson’s Creek. It is one of the all-time great small town teen drama series, and it treats its characters with the same care and depth that Ginny & Georgia does. Dawson’s Creek has excellent character development, strong dialogue, and a really compelling central love triangle as well.

‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ (2022–)
Created by Jenny Han
The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Belly Conklin (Lola Tung), a teenage girl who spends every summer in Cousins Beach with her family and her mom’s best friend Susannah’s (Rachel Blanchard) family. One summer, Belly feels a shift in her longtime friendships with Susannah’s sons: Belly’s forever crush, Conrad (Christopher Briney), and her close friend, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
Ginny & Georgia and The Summer I Turned Pretty are two of the very best teen dramas being released at the moment. Both series have messy romantic relationships, a touching portrayal of family, and main characters who are just trying to find themselves during their teenage years. Although The Summer I Turned Pretty is lighter in tone than Ginny & Georgia, its central group of characters will be a delight for those who are missing MANG.

‘We Were Liars’ (2025–)
Created by Julie Plec and Carina Adly Mackenzie
The newly-released We Were Liars, based on the E. Lockhart novel of the same name, is a psychological thriller and teen drama hybrid that is perfect for Ginny & Georgia fans craving more suspense after Season 3. The show follows Cadence “Cady” Sinclair Eastman (Emily Alyn Lind), a teenage girl who spends every summer on Beechwood Island with her wealthy family. Cady is unable to remember the events of last summer, which ended with her alone in the ocean with a head injury.
The show takes place during two crucial summers: the one that Cady can’t remember, and the present one, where she tries to piece everything together and regain her memories. In the past, Cady watches as things start to permanently change for her and her family, alongside her three best friends and fellow “Liars”: her cousins, Johnny (Joseph Zada) and Mirren (Esther McGregor), and her best friend and love interest, Gat (Shubham Maheshwari). In the present, Cady tries to hold onto these friendships, even though she suspects that they are keeping major secrets about that summer.

‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ (2001–2015)
Created by Yan Moore and Linda Schuyler
The cast of Degrassi: The Next Generation overlaps quite a bit with Ginny & Georgia. The two shows share a number of actors, including but not limited to: Raymond Ablack, Sara Waisglass, Jennifer Robertson, Annie Clark, Devyn Nekoda, and Chelsea Clark (who starred not in DTNG, but in its sequel series, Degrassi: Next Class). Although Ginny & Georgia is set in Massachusetts, both of these Canadian teen dramas feel very similar in a lot of ways.
Degrassi: The Next Generation follows a rotation of characters who attend Degrassi Community School over the course of 14 seasons, through their love triangles, complicated life developments, and moments of growth. Like Ginny & Georgia, Degrassi: The Next Generation is a messy and entertaining teen drama that also gives each character the chance to develop over the course of their arc on the show.

‘Bad Sisters’ (2002–)
Created by Sharon Horgan, Dave Finkel, and Brett Baer
Based on the Belgian series Clan, Bad Sisters follows the five Garvey sisters: Eva (Sharon Horgan), Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), Bibi (Sarah Greene), and Becka (Eve Hewson). The sisters lost both their parents at a young age, so they are especially close. Like Ginny & Georgia, Bad Sisters is told over the course of two timelines, and secrets are slowly revealed throughout both.
In the present day, Grace grieves the loss of her husband, Jean Paul (Claes Bang), while her sisters hide their involvement in his death from the suspicious insurance appraisers. In the past, Jean Paul continued to ruin each of the sisters’ lives, so they banded together to plot his murder behind Grace’s back. For Ginny & Georgia fans who are most invested in Georgia and are rooting for her to get away with her kills, Bad Sisters is the perfect next watch.

‘Gilmore Girls’ (2000–2007)
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino
Gilmore Girls follows Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), a mother and daughter who are best friends. They live in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, a cozy and picturesque town where everybody knows each other. Ginny & Georgia has always been open about the ways in which it was influenced by Gilmore Girls, and it even mentions the show in its pilot episode.
Like Ginny & Georgia, Gilmore Girls puts an equal focus on both of its main characters’ lives. Lorelai and Rory each deal with their own issues, from unforeseen complications related to school and work, to messy romantic storylines, and even a number of love triangles. At the center of it all, though, is the unbreakable bond between the mother and daughter (and a whole lot of coffee).
2
‘The O.C.’ (2003–2007)
Created by Josh Schwartz
The O.C. follows Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie), a teenage boy whose mother kicks him out after he gets into legal trouble for stealing a car with his brother. Ryan’s public defender, Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher), then invites Ryan to live with him and his family. As Ryan becomes a member of the Cohen family, he adjusts to life in Newport Beach, and falls for the girl next door, Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton).
There is no teen drama that feels more like Ginny & Georgia than The O.C. Both shows have a heavy focus on family, as well as on second chances for people who have had to make less than ideal decisions in order to survive. Ryan, like the Miller family, experiences a great deal of culture shock in his new home, but he slowly grows to love his life there and the people around him.

‘Revenge’ (2011–2015)
Created by Mike Kelley
For Ginny & Georgia fans who are most interested in Georgia’s complex past and her struggle to cover up her crimes, Revenge should be at the top of the watchlist. The series follows Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp), who has since gone undercover using the name Emily Thorne. As a child, Amanda watched her father, David Clarke (James Tupper), be framed and sent to prison (where he died) for a crime he did not commit.
Now, as Emily, she has come back to the Hamptons, where she grew up, to get revenge on the very people who ruined her and her father’s lives. Like Ginny & Georgia, Revenge centers on a complex and nuanced heroine who often does the wrong things for the right reasons. It is full of suspense, shocking plot twists, messy love triangles and a picturesque setting that Ginny & Georgia fans will absolutely love.
